Big, bold power is on offer with the Mark B. Sailed best with complete devotion, the Mark B places racing speed well within your grasp, while you can tune it to the conditions in order to extend its range. Sail the Mark B with the commitment it desires and you will be greatly rewarded.
Unrolling the Mark B, you are instantly struck by its bold and bright colour scheme thanks to its fluorescent yellow and pink detailing and a large clear monofilm window which spreads across three panels. The Mark B certainly looks awesome and brightens up a grey and dreary beach. When it comes to rigging, the Mark B is simple and easy to setup correctly. With a 6-batten outline and a strong draft set down around the boom, there is room for the Mark B to open up and deliver power as it expands and fills. Up top, the Mark B shows a generous amount of fall away at the leech, ready to breathe, tune, and absorb gusts and lulls for the rider. X-Ply runs the length of the luff sleeve to provide stable load distribution, while along the foot, up and around the clew, and at the very top of the Mark B, Bi-Ply is positioned to maintain strength and load distribution in areas of higher stress. Sticking with the theme of load distribution, three carbon load stringers radiate out from the single titanium clew eyelet. With a truncated boom length to reduce its overall length, every effort has been made with the Mark B to provide power, while still maintaining stability throughout the sail.

The Mark B, for its size, is light, making it easy to walk down to the water’s edge without any real struggle. The Mark B instantly offers easy-to-find power and low-end torque that requires you to react – demanding proactive input from the rider when applying power. The Mark B pulls from upfront where a little more draft and profile is set, which really assists the rider in getting up to speed and planing with ultimate ease. Locked in for the ride, the Mark B is settled, holding power well and remaining stable. There is some flex in the Mark B and it will twist and flex through any gusts, before recoiling as it makes every effort to keep you flying along. As a result, lulls mean absolutely nothing to the Mark B , so much so that you won’t even notice you sailed through one. The efficient profile when filled pulls you through with confidence. Putting the Mark B out in some more challenging conditions where power is plentiful, it delivers plenty of super grunty power, which demands the rider to have full confidence in themselves to be able to pin down that power. It’s a thrilling power source that keeps you driving forwards. Reaching its limits, the Mark B does begin to feel a bit big when overpowered, however, extra downhaul really elevates the Mark B’s range and shifts the control back into your own hands. Regardless of the conditions when powered and at speed, the Mark B likes to be sailed with commitment, with a no-fear attitude to make the most of its full-throttle character. Gybing the Mark B is a very committed affair; the long boom together with its big and bold power needs to be managed and tamed with a degree of finesse. You need to keep a handle on the power and remain poised for its bold power on the exit; if you manage to do just that then the Mark B is a real pleasure to gybe. The Mark B is a real force to be reckoned with and demands a commanding attitude from the rider, however, if you can do just that you will be gifted by its full-throttle engine room personality.
