Police on Wednesday arrested a 55-year-old man for an investigated case of assault and bodily harm.
According to the police, a 48-year-old victim was treated and is being held for observation at the Paphos General Hospital, while Paphos CID investigates the case.
The alleged assault happened shortly before 1pm on Tuesday, while the 48-year-old and the 55-year-old were working in a building under renovation in Kato Paphos, after a confrontation related to their job. The 55-year-old allegedly attacked the other man with a lath hammer.
Officers were called to the scene and the 48-year-old was taken by ambulance to the hospital where it he was found to have suffered a bruise to his left temple and an abrasion to his left shoulder.
Police obtained an arrest warrant against the suspect and he was located and taken into custody.
The case is being investigated against concerns intent to cause grievous bodily harm, injury, and possession of an offensive weapon.
In addition, he is being investigated for a traffic accident and after allegedly colliding with a parked car while fleeing the scene of the assault.
