Colombo: Team India had their first net session in Sri Lanka on Tuesday after Gautam Gambhir took over as the head coach. But things did nit go as per plan as Hardik Pandya got into an argument with coaching staff Abhishek Nayar. As per a report on RevSports, during a simulation session while the nets was happening, Hardik hit a shot through point and claimed it was a boundary. While he claimed it to be a boundary, Abhishek felt otherwise. That is when Hardik asked for the exact placement of the fielder, to which, Nayar pointed towards the position where the reporter, donning a red T-shirt, was standing.
With Hardik insisting, Abhishek asked the reporter about the shot. “If you have placed your fielder here, then it’s a boundary.” The reporter’s response left both Hardik and Abhishek smiling.
Hardik won the simulation session and later also went on to have a word with the reporter.
Earlier, the Indian team arrived in Colombo to a warm welcome, with the recently-crowned T20 world champions playfully mingling with fans and giving them some precious moments.
