Vice President Harris is heading to Wisconsin on Tuesday for her first rally since securing enough delegates to become the likely Democratic nominee for president, where she will lay out the case against former President Trump and tout a massive fundraising haul.
The campaign event in Milwaukee makes the site of last week’s Republican National Convention the first campaign stop of her presidential bid. It will also mark her fifth visit this year to the Badger State, a key battleground state ahead of November.
The vice president will arrive in the state with momentum on her side. Her campaign raised more than $100 million between Sunday afternoon, when President Biden said he would not seek reelection, and Monday evening. More than 1.1 million individual donors contributed to the campaign.
A host of Wisconsin officials will join Harris for Tuesday’s event, including Gov. Tony Evers (D), Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D), Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez (D), Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson (D) and state Democratic Party Chair Ben Wikler.
The event is scheduled to begin at 2:05 p.m. EDT.
