Avril Lavigne Sharpens Up in Pointy Pumps for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Premiere in New York
Avril Lavigne attended the New York premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine” yesterday.
Beyond Lavigne, other notable attendees included Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, Lance Bass and Emma Corrin, among others. Lavigne is likely in attendance given her 2002 ballad “I’m With You” is featured in the film’s soundtrack, along with the likes of Green Day and K-Pop superstars Stray Kids.
Gracing the red carpet, the Canadian songstress donned a pair of black pumps. Although her trousers slightly eclipsed them, the singer’s pumps featured matt leather uppers in black, sharp triangular toes and stiletto heels.
Black pumps are a closet staple for many celebrities, Lavigne included. Similar silhouettes to the musician’s own can be purchased from brands like The Row, Coach, Burberry and Stuart Weitzman, among a slew of others. Endlessly versatile, the neutral silhouette, and styles like it, go with just about everything, cementing the style as a certified classic.
The grunge pop princess accompanied her black pumps with an oversized dark gray t-shirt paired with form-fitted leather trousers with intricate lacing up the sides and front. Lavigne’s pants also included a sort of peekaboo effect with ties fixed to the hem, raising it up to showcase her shoes. Rounding out her look, the musician layered on grungy silver jewelry.
For footwear, Lavigne often sticks to edgy styles that match her wardrobe. The “Smile” singer can be seen in black and white sneakers by Vans, Asics and Converse while off-duty, plus ankle and combat boots by Jeffrey Campbell, Wild Diva and Ugg. For more formal occasions, Lavigne wears neutral-colored pumps, loafers and sandals by Christian Louboutin, Kurt Geiger, Vivienne Westwood and Giuseppe Zanotti.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” is an upcoming action-adventure film directed by Shawn Levy starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. The highly-anticipated crossover superhero film is set to release in theaters on July 26.
