Gautam Gambhir has recently become the new head coach of Indian men’s cricket team as he succeeded Rahul Dravid who gave his resignation after India won the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados. Dravid had already said that he would step down after the T20 World Cup. After the position for India’s head coach became vacant, names of many people came up. One of these names was Ashish Nehra. The former Indian fast bowler now opened up about his views and has told the whole story about this. He told why he did not become or want to become the head coach of Team India. Nehra is currently the head coach of IPL team Gujarat Titans. Earlier, he was the bowling coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
In a conversation with Sports Tak, Nehra told that he did not think about becoming the head coach of the Indian team.
“I never thought about it. My children are still young. Gautam Gambhir also has young children but everyone has different ideas. That’s why I am happy where I am. I am not in the mood to travel for nine months,” said Nehra.
Now, Ashish Nehra will be seen doing commentary on Sony Sports during the India and Sri Lanka series.
