Tottenham Hotspur have an abundance of promising talent within their ranks which certainly bodes well for the future.
After years of struggling to produce or give academy starlets a clear pathway to the Tottenham first-team squad, the focus has changed over the past year for the better.
After the eras of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, who were both more concentrated on trying to win for now, rather than having an eye on the future, current Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou has shown that he is prepared to give those within the academy to shine.
Arguably, the brightest young talent within the youth set-up in North London is 16-year-old Mikey Moore.
Despite his young age, Moore was handed his Premier League debut by Postecoglou last season in the defeat to Manchester City and followed it up with another late cameo on the final day of the campaign at Sheffield United.
Moore has continued where he left off, scoring in the pre-season friendlies against Cambridge United and Hearts, while also providing an assist in Saturday’s 2-0 win at QPR.
The teenager was name in the travelling party for Tottenham’s tour of Asia which departed for Japan yesterday where he will be hoping to get further minutes.
Football Insider have reported that Tottenham are confident of the teenager putting pen to paper on a new contract despite interest from clubs including Manchester City and Manchester United.
Last April, Moore signed a three-year deal which will take him into his first professional contract when he turns 17, next month (Football.London).
Spurs believe that Moore will sign an extension following his bright start in senior football, which has also seen he likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund sit up and take notice.

The term ‘generational talent’ is used too often these days, however, it genuinely feels as if Moore has all of the tools to live up to the hype.
He comes from a good family and there is no doubt that Tottenham are doing everything they can to keep off-pitch distractions away from him to allow him to continue on his current trajectory.
A loan move should not be something which Spurs consider this season, he has to remain as part of the Tottenham first-team squad and give him the opportunity to impress.
