PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Summer heat builds around the Portland, Vancouver area Tuesday, but remains near normal through the end of the week.
Sunny skies and warmer temperatures will remain along the Willamette Valley on Tuesday. The sunny skies will help warm temperatures back into the low to mid-80s around Portland. That is right near the average of 83 degrees for this point in July.
Northwesterly winds will help keep wildfire smoke clear of from Portland metro area on Tuesday. That won't be the case east of the Cascades. Hot, dry and downslope winds will keep the wildfire threat elevated. Poor air quality is expected to last through the middle of the week.
Temperatures will cool slightly around Portland by the middle of the week. That comes with a few more clouds in the mix on Wednesday. Highs will only make it into the upper 70s to low 80s on Thursday.
Temperatures will slowly start to rebound over the weekend and take Portland into the start of next week.
