Charges filed against three suspects in July police chase
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Three people have been charged after a wild police chase two weeks ago. Court records show the suspect facing the most charges flew to Oklahoma City the night before the crime spree.
It all unfolded July 9 when police got a call at MidFirst Bank on West Reno that someone was trying to cash a fake check.
As officers arrived, court documents explain Shawn Fagan, Gregory Lee, and Jermaine Litchmore were driving away in a rental SUV.
Officers tried to stop them, but said the men took off.
McIntyre Law Chopper 4 was following the chase from the sky and captured the entire chase and arrests on camera.
Eventually, the SUV stopped in a shopping center on South May and the three suspects inside took off running.
Officers followed them. One officer took down a suspect in a somersault, while the other two were found and arrested.
Court documents said Gregory Lee, the suspect originally sitting in the backseat of the SUV, faces the most charges.
The District Attorney filed 19 counts against him.
He allegedly flew into Oklahoma City the night before. Court documents explain he has a valid Louisiana license.
On July 9, police said he went to five metro bank branches and tried to cash bogus checks using several different fake IDs.
The records explain at least one case was successful. Police later identified the envelope of cash they found when Lee was arrested, matches envelopes from MidFirst Bank.
During the investigation, police said they found a backpack in the trunk of the car where they found Lee's photo on Pennsylvania and Missouri IDs.
Court records show Lee is a convicted felon in Florida, Michigan and New York.
In this crime spree, he's charged with identity theft, possession of stolen credit cards, and grand larceny.
Litchmore and Fagan also have convictions in New York for grand larceny and possession of forged instrument. In the July 9 chase, they're charged with endangering others and conspiracy to commit a felony.
