'Sorry, they have to carry him to term': Mockery after expert jokes Vance may get yanked

The internet on Monday mocked former President Donald Trump's running mate amid news that Kamala Harris is now on the Democratic side of the ballot, with a Republican strategist posting on social media that Vance is "about to get the call to do the right thing."

President Joe Biden dropped out of the race Sunday and endorsed Harris be the next president in a race that will become "prosecutor vs. felon." Harris has already raked in endorsements from top Democratic lawmakers and reportedly raised more than $80 million in 24 hours.

On Monday night, Mike Madrid, co-founder of The Lincoln Project, stirred the pot by suggesting Vance — much like Biden — will also get the "call to do the right thing."

"nope, sorry, they have to carry him to term," replied @goldengateblond to Madrid, including a dig at Vance's abortion stance.

"Abusive couples have to stay together!" chided @CAMadScientist, a dig at Vance's remarks that women ought to remain married even if they’re being abused.

"Two wrongs don’t make a right," jabbed @lt_internet.

"Did Biden-Harris purposely outwait the GOP convention to #snooker Trump?" questioned @HeadlineZooo. "Trump chose JD thinking his opponent was Biden. JD is a terrible (doubling down) choice not optimized for Harris at the top of the ticket. Had Trump known, he would have chosen a woman as his VP."

"How many Scaramuccis Total for this guy?" asked JenOnTheBlock7.

"One upside for #JDVance if Trump did switch running mates is at least JD wouldn’t have to be fitted for a noose!" proclaimed @ScottUhlTX, referencing the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, in which noose-wielding Trump supporters threatened to hang former Vice President Mike Pence.

"Mike Johnson is going to sue to prevent right?" asked @NC_Skins_WFT.

The internet also mocked Trump and Vance on Monday over their "cringe" interview on Fox News.

Trump and Vance talked with Jesse Watters in a clip that interviewed Monday night. When Watters asked a soft-ball question — "Why did you pick J.D. Vance?" — Trump gave a curious answer.

"We've always had a good chemistry," said Trump. "And originally, J.D. was probably not for me but he didn’t know me. And then, when we got to know each other, he liked me. Maybe, more than anybody liked me. And he would stick up for me and he would fight for the worker as much as I fight for the worker."

He added: "We just had an automatic chemistry."
