Colman Domingo sat down for an interview at SiriusXM Studios in New York today.
Worn with plain white ankle-length socks, the “Euphoria” star was styled in a pair of cream-colored loafers from Yves Saint Laurent. The striking style featured lush leather uppers and a slip-on construction. Almond-shaped toes and YSL logo detailing transitioned into black flexible rubber soles and stacked short block heels. The simplistic style was preppy and neutral, playing well with Domingo’s neutral color scheme.
Spearheaded by Anthony Vaccarello, appointed to the brand in April 2016, YSL offers a broad range of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear products including leather goods, shoes, jewelry, fragrance and eyewear. The French fashion house is well known for its leather footwear styles. Each silhouette boasts longevity, given the attention to craftsmanship and classic styling.
Beyond YSL, both affordable and high-end brands include a variety of loafer styles including The Row, Aldo, Clarks, Coach, Dior, Steve Madden and Maison Margiela, just to name a few. While black is seemingly the most popular colorway, loafers evolved within the last few years to include a range of colorful styles. The hallowed silhouette has become a medium through which brands can experiment, decorating the footwear with everything from studs and crystals to pearls and spikes.
Cool and casual, the “Zola” actor donned a forest green button-down in an oversized style featuring glossy black buttons and contrasting stitching. On the bottom, Domingo sported oversized black trousers fixed with ties on the hem that allowed the star to lengthen or shorten his pants.
Currently, Domingo will be starring as the legendary singer Nat King Cole in a movie musical from a script he co-wrote. Additionally, it was recently announced that Domingo was cast to play Joe Jackson in the musical biopic “Michael” about the life of singer Michael Jackson.
