South Holland, IL – South Suburban College (SSC) is thrilled to announce the launch of our newly approved Cosmetology School, now open for applications. This innovative program is designed to provide students with comprehensive training in the field of cosmetology, preparing them for successful careers in the beauty industry.
The SSC Cosmetology School will offer a dynamic curriculum that covers all aspects of cosmetology, including hair cutting and styling, skincare, nail care, and makeup application. Students will receive hands-on training from experienced instructors in state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring they gain the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the industry.
“We are very excited to launch this program and provide our students with the opportunity to pursue their passion for cosmetology,” said Leslie Glenn, Salon Manager at SSC. “Our program is designed to meet the needs of today’s beauty industry and to prepare our students for successful careers.” Students in the program will complete 1500 hours in classroom and lab instruction in accordance with the regulations outlined by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Upon completion, students will be eligible to sit for the state licensure exam, which is required to work as a Cosmetologist in the State of Illinois.
