San Rafael police arrested a suspect for allegedly striking a store clerk with a hammer in order to steal a hat.
The victim suffered minor injuries, police Sgt. Justin Graham said.
Around 4:45 a.m. Saturday, the suspect entered the 7-Eleven store on B Street, where she yelled for unknown reasons and then left, Graham reported.
She later returned and appeared to be stealing hats from a display, which prompted the clerk to confront her. In response, the suspect swung a hammer at him and then took a hat.
Officers arrived and viewed surveillance footage of the robbery, Graham said.
Tameka Elaine Cullens, 47, of San Rafael was arrested on suspicion of robbery. She was booked into Marin County Jail, where her bail was set at $75,000.
