Glen Powell and the cast of “Twisters” is leaning into their characters’ country roots. While Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos continue on their press tour, the actors joined singer Luke Combs onstage on Friday, July 19, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, for a not-so-casual beer.
During Combs’ song “1, 2 Many,” Powell led his cast in a group “shotgun.” All can be seen chugging beers and throwing their finished cans into the crowd. Powell, looked the part, too. The actor, who plays Tyler Owens — a tornado wrangler — in the standalone sequel to the 1996 “Twister” film, hit the stage in classic cowboy boots, blue-washed denim jeans, a button-down shirt and backwards trucker hat.
Combs later sang his song “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” from the “Twisters” soundtrack.

Powell’s fashion as of late isn’t inspired only his Oklahoma-grown character. He’s a Texas native, himself. The actor played high school football in Texas, has family ranch there, and in recent interviews, said he’ll be moving back to his home state after a stint in Los Angeles.
Last week, Powell was seen arriving to “The View” talk show dressed in all denim look. He paired the outfit with traditional cowboy boots, detailed with stripe stitching and a Cuban heel.
See more of his style through the years. “Twisters” is in theaters now.
