MANHATTAN (KSNT) - Police in Manhattan arrested a local woman Sunday in connection to a drug-related death.
The Riley County Police Department (RCPD) announced in a press release that a 59-year-old Manhattan woman was arrested around 10:15 p.m. on July 21. The woman was charged with distribution of a controlled substance resulting in fatality and distribution of opiate/opium/narcotic/stimulant/heroin of unknown quantity.
The woman is being held on a bond of $125,0000. Her arrest comes from an incident in January 2021 when officers investigated the death of a 61-year-old man in Manhattan.
The RCPD said an investigation into this death is ongoing along with other investigations into fentanyl-related overdoses in the community. People with information on situations like this are encouraged to come forward and assist law enforcement.
