The 2024 Paris Olympics are approaching quickly, and Tracksmith has readied a collection timed to the global event.
The Boston-based running brand revealed on Monday its Federation Collection, a range of apparel and accessories inspired by the French capital and designed “to honor the heart and history behind the renowned competition.” What’s more, Tracksmith further explained its newest range was also inspired by the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games “and the lifestyle of the amateur athlete.”
The statement piece of the collection is the Federation Blazer. To create the look, Tracksmith said it partnered with Emilie Hawtin of Clementina, a tailoring brand for women, who helped source and select the materials. Hawtin also helped the brand find Le Tre Sarte, a zero-waste atelier in Rome, where each jacket was handmade.
The mid-weight, 100% organic cotton twill jacket will retail for $450, will be available for men and women and will come in two sizes: S/M and M/L.
Another highlight of the collection is a limited-edition Tracksmith x Merci x Wind Vintage watch, which includes a calfskin leather band, a navy dial embellished with Breguet numerals and a red second hand that’s true to the Tracksmith aesthetic.
Rounding out the collection is a Tracksmith Tracksuit made of a stretch cotton blend, which was inspired by the Olympic Games of the 1960s, as well as a new Federation Singlet, Federation T-shirt and Federation Grand Shorts.
The Federation Collection will be available at a pop-up store in Paris, which was created in collaboration with retailer Merci, from July 22 until mid-August. The pop-up will also offer an exclusive collaborative Graboy Tee and Trackhouse Sweatshirt with Merci. Tracksmith also stated it will host a series of running events and more at the shop.
“We’re thrilled to have a brand presence in Paris during the Olympics, and excited to bring the Tracksmith community to the French market for the first time,” Tracksmith founder and chief executive officer Tracksmith Matt Taylor told FN. “The Olympics is the biggest international stage for track and field, and our Federation Collection celebrates the Games’ amateur spirt through the lens of the athletes and draws inspiration from the City of Light.”
The range will also be available via Tracksmith.com.
The Federation Collection will not include the brand’s first-ever sneaker, the Eliot Runner. However, Tracksmith confirmed with FN that it will use the pop-up to introduce the silhouette to the French market.
Tracksmith revealed the Eliot Runner in September 2022, a performance running shoe with fashion appeal. The look features details synonymous with Tracksmith, such as the sash on the side, the racing stripe on the rear and the woven label on the tongue. In terms of tech, it features footbeds made from Pebax that are triple the thickness of normal sockliners, which sit atop firmer and more responsive Pebax midsoles.
Several colorways of the Tracksmith Eliot Runner are available now via Tracksmith.com for $198.
