Crystal Palace must make a new proposal for Marseille winger Ismaila Sarr if they want to get the deal done, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Eagles are trying to replace Michael Olise after selling him to Bayern Munich earlier this summer and their hunt has taken them to an ex-Watford star.
Sarr, on the books at Marseille in France, is the player that Palace are currently trying to sign, but they have seen their opening bid knocked back.
Talks are still taking place as Crystal Palace try to find a formula which is acceptable for the French giants.
Sarr is keen to return to the Premier League with Crystal Palace but it is suggested a ‘new proposal’ is needed to get the deal over the line.
The ball looks to be in Crystal Palace’s court to come up with something which satisfies Marseille.
The French giants are splashing cash of their own this summer and have just landed Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.
They are also working to add Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and have an agreement in place with Spurs for the Denmark international.
