My Bridezilla friend made guests cry & spectacularly ruined her own wedding – she then had the cheek to send us a bill

DESPITE never making it down the aisle, one bride made sure there wasn’t a dry eye left in the house

The bridezilla caused a stir when she ruined her own wedding, caused some of her guests to cry, and demanded her friends reimburse her when the ceremony didn’t go ahead.

In a Reddit post, user Lrhun explained how her former friend managed to burn her bridges with her family, friends, and fiance on her big day.

She offered some background context to the situation, revealing that her friend had already accused one of her bridesmaids of being pregnant when she refused to drink.

When the flower girl wasn’t able to make the ceremony due to chicken pox, the bride-to-be was set over the edge.

The Redditor user recalled finding busy work outside of the bridal suite so as to avoid her friend as much as possible on the morning of the wedding.

She described the maid of honor, the groom’s sister, as “deserving a medal” for her patience.

“The whole day [the bride] had constant outbursts,” the poster explained.

“She made people cry, [including] wedding staff and bridesmaids.”

So when the bride asked for some time alone, her bridesmaids were more than happy to give it to her.

However, as the ceremony time got nearer, the bride was nowhere to be seen.

Eventually the maid of honor informed the other members of the bridal party that the wedding would not be going ahead.

She revealed that the bride had been caught be the groom having a “quickie” with his uncle before walking down the aisle.

The groom called off the nuptials and the Reddit user, bridesmaids, and guests left the venue.

That night, the poster said she received a call from the disgruntled ex-bride demanding she cover some of the costs for the day.

“According to [the bride], it was our duty as the bridal party to pay her cancellation fees,” she wrote.

Along with the £3,860 bill, the bride also said she was looking for a place to stay.

The Reddit user refused her former friend’s request and went no contact.

She added that the bride had previously asked her bridesmaids to fork over £1,500 each for their dresses.

The Redditor explained that the former bride now has four lawsuits against her, including one from the maid of honor who covered the cost of the dresses.

Her ex-fiance was also in the process of suing her for the money he lost on the day.

Reddit users shared their thoughts on the chaotic situation in the comments section.

“Holy rusted metal, Batman. That is one crazy ride! She has some nerve to demand help paying for cancelation fees for her f**k up. Wow. Just wow,” wrote one reader.

“LMFAO, UNBELIEVABLE! I’m so amused by the audacity of bridezillas. It never ceases to amaze me,” said another person.

“OMG, I would love this to be made into a movie or short film,” commented a third Reddit user.

“How in God’s name were you all friends with this woman!? She sounds like a walking red flag nightmare,” said another reader.

How to organise a Hen party that doesn’t break the bank

• Establish an affordable budget ahead of time and don’t go over it! Price things up while planning so you can keep track of what it will all cost.
• DIY as much as you can. Between your group you may be able to save money instead of buying everything new. Does anyone have leftover but practically new decoration from another hen do they can bring? Perhaps you can craft some fun signs instead of buying it all new.
• Consider a one-day event. While a whole weekend with your best friends sounds perfect, the most expensive part of an event is often the accommodation. Could you find a way of organising one incredible dream day, instead of stretching it out? Often you still have as much fun, and can wake up hungover in your own bed. 
• Plan cheaper activities. You don’t need to break the bank to have a good time. Consider throwing your own DIY bottomless brunch, themed party, at-home spa day or fancy meal where everyone contributes their own dish.
• Host free games. Why not throw some fun games into the itinerary that don’t cost a penny? Mr and Mrs, for example, is totally free and is a great way to feature the groom too. Scavenger hunts, mini Olympics, couple quizzes can also be fun if done well.
• Include all the hens. Is anyone in the group talented at crafts or baking? Asking people to help decorate or provide treats can help reduce your spending costs. You could also play to the group’s strengths if you have someone who could host a wine-tasting or yoga class for free.
