A brush fire along the 210 Freeway in Tujunga was 60% contained Saturday after burning 43 acres, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to the blaze burning along the eastbound side of the freeway near La Tuna Canyon Road around 4:10 p.m. Friday.
The fire’s forward progress was stopped, but “the terrain is quite steep and covered in erosion-preventing wire mesh, which makes this slow and difficult work,” according to a Los Angeles Fire Department statement Saturday morning.
The LAFD and Los Angeles County Fire Department were working on the blaze from the air and on the ground.
The Sunland Boulevard on-ramp, La Tuna Canyon Road off-ramp, and the No. 3 and 4 lanes of the eastbound 210 Freeway were closed.
No injuries or structure damage were reported, and it was unclear what sparked the fire.
