Fighters love jumping the guillotine, but Sayat Abduali might single-handedly start a new trend of jumping the triangle.
In a daring sequence at an Octagon League show in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Friday, the undefeated lightweight prospect pulled off one of the best submission of 2024 with a flying triangle choke that put opponent Fakhriddin Khoshimzhonov to sleep.

Khoshimzhonov immediately shot out of the gates with takedown attempt, only to be foiled by Abduali’s impressive balance. Hopping on one leg, Abduali was not content to let Khoshimzhonov hold him against the fence. The 20-year-old Kazakh threw caution to the wind and threw his legs up around Khoshimzhonov’s head and neck, instantly putting Khoshimzhonov in danger.
At first, Khoshimzhonov tried to punch his way out, but when he realized that wasn’t happening, he went to fight Abduali’s hands. It was way too little, way too late. Seconds later, Khoshimzhonov was snoozing.
Abduali improved to 6-0 as a pro, with all of his victories coming by way of knockout or submission.
