PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Crews responded to a brush fire underneath the Marquam Bridge Friday morning, authorities said.
According to Portland Fire & Rescue, following reports of propane tanks exploding, crews rushed to the scene and began fighting the flames.
The fire at 7805 South Water Avenue is believed to have been started at a homeless camp, officials said. One homeless person told authorities that he was the only person at the camp.
After the fire started, authorities said it spread to nearby brush and was 900 square feet and growing.
Crews worked to put out the flames and eventually used foam to ensure that it was fully extinguished.
