A large-scale IT outage caused significant disruptions across Australia and New Zealand on Friday, affecting travel, television broadcasts, and supermarket systems. The National Cyber Security Coordinator attributed the outage to a "third-party software platform" issue, dispelling initial fears of a cyberattack. Sydney and Christchurch airports experienced delays, while Australia’s ABC broadcaster and major supermarket chains also faced significant technical issues.
