ALDI has revealed a brand new version of its Kevin The Carrot toys in time for the Paris 2024 Olympics – and shoppers can’t wait to get their hands on it.
The new edition of the beloved soft toy will be coming to Aldi‘s Middle Aisle on July 25th, just ahead of the beginning of the Olympic Games.
Kevin has had a sporty makeover, and will appear on the supermarket shelves sporting a blue Union Jack headband.
Fans of Kevin can pick up the new toy for just £3.99.
Users took to Facebook to express their excitement for the stuffed toy’s release.
One user said: “Awww Kevin I’ve missed you!”
Another said: “I need this.”
And: “The kids would love this.”
The general consensus though was that people would be purchasing the new edition carrot to add to their “collection”.
However, as with all Aldi Specialbuys, shoppers better run if they want to get their hands on the limited-edition toy, as it is only available while stocks last.
Aldi is the official supermarket partner of Team GB and Paralympics GB and fans will be delighted to see that Kevin also features in Aldi’s newest advert.
The advert, realised today, shows Kevin can be seen enjoying a relaxing dinner in Paris.
After reading in a newspaper that the games cannot begin as the Olympic Torch has gone missing, Kevin races to save the day, with the help of some friends.
The return of Kevin The Carrot comes as Aldi launches a Sports Bursary with Team GB and ParalympicsGB to provide funding and coaching to schools, local teams and clubs.
Ten sports groups will be selected by Aldi and Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes to receive the bursary.
The price includes a “money can’t buy” coaching session at their club, led by the athletes to inspire the next generation of Olympians.
The winning groups will also receive £1500 to buy sporting equipment and facilities and vouchers for Aldi.
For fans of Aldi’s middle aisle, plenty more bargains will be coming to stores on Sunday, July 21st, that are bound to keep the kids entertained in the school holidays,
Shoppers can pick up Barbie and Ken beach dolls for £11.99 and Paw Patrol soft toys for £6.99.
Also available to keep the little ones occupied is a Super Mario Playset and Lego Dinosaur set.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games begin on July 26th and will go on until August 11th.
This will then be followed by the Paralympic Games from August 28th to September 8th.
WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.
For reduced items – when shops open
Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.
A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”
That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.
Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.
For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays
Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.
New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.
For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time.
You don’t have to head into stores to bag a Specialbuy, though.
They also go on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can pre-order them up to a week in advance.
As long as you spend at least £25, you’ll get the items delivered for free.
Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible
