Plate Selector

Plate Selector is a minimalist space located in Barcelona, Spain, designed by Isern Serra. The project centers on the kitchen, designed as the focal point to underscore its importance. The centerpiece of the kitchen is an imposing island crafted from Alicante red marble, providing a stark contrast to the surrounding linen-toned space. This juxtaposition highlights the island, turning it into both a functional and aesthetic element. The kitchen island facilitates easy movement and doubles as a social hub, encouraging interaction. This design seamlessly merges practicality with a welcoming, artistic ambiance. From this core, the project maintains a cohesive aesthetic, integrating subtle kitchen references throughout the space.

The open space, characterized by its expansive layout and soft color palette, creates a welcoming atmosphere essential for productivity. Equipped with two large tables, this area supports daily tasks efficiently. A notable feature is a cylindrical structure of red Alicante marble, echoing the kitchen’s central island. Adding to the warm, personal touch, shelves display decorative objects, enhancing the work environment. The carefully chosen furniture arrangement fosters social interaction. The Masheb sofa by Arquitectura-G, with its modular design and geometric shapes, offers a comfortable spot for informal conversations and brief rests.

Its light color seamlessly blends into the space, contrasting with the table’s cylindrical forms. High ceilings contribute to the space’s refreshing and natural feel, making it a pleasant area for relaxation. The meeting room stands out with its unique arched entrance and terracotta interior. These arches not only add a sculptural quality but also ensure privacy. The terracotta color connects visually with the kitchen’s central theme, creating a warm, intimate setting ideal for meetings. Similarly, the bathroom continues the design’s aesthetic cohesion with its arched entrance and terracotta tones. The warm lighting complements this choice, turning the bathroom into a cozy, tranquil space.
