A FAR cry from its competitors offerings, at BonBon land you’ll see a farting dog, a vomiting rat, urinating ants and even bikini-clad cows.
Danish candy man Michael Spangsberg dreamt up the world’s wackiest theme park back in 1991 – and it still welcomes thrill-seekers to its 34-acre venue on the island of Zealand.
The famed sweet maker gave the names of his candies bizarre names for the kids he wanted to sell them to.
His boiled sweeties were dubbed “seagull droppings”, “Pee Diapers”, and “dog farts”.
As his confectionery surged in popularity, kids were keen to tour his factory – but stringent hygiene rules got in the way.
This inspired Michael to open the theme park for children instead.
The names for his over 60 rides vary in intensity from moderate to wild.
They include “Dog Fart Rollercoaster”, where customers travel through huge heaps of dog poo – while listening to fart sounds.
The ‘Hundeprutterutchenbane’ ride, as it is known in Danish, uses the mutt’s flatulence to “add extra speed to the ride”.
Victor The Water Worm, a steel sit down roller coaster opened in 2009 that reaches speeds of 33mph.
A log flume ride named The Water Rat which flows for 220m and drops two metres at one point.
But despite its childish humour, BonBon Land welcomes around half a million visitors every year – and routinely ranks as Denmark’s best theme park.
He opened up the amusement park in railway town Holme-Olstrup, just 60 miles away from Copenhagen.
Tickets sell for £35.97 and as the park is outside, some of the rides close when it rains.
But fans of Bonbon Land have left reviews of the park saying their children loved it.
One said: “It was a rainy day, so some of the attractions were closed, but all in all it was thoroughly enjoyable!
“Because of the rain, there was hardly any people, so we almost didn’t have to queue at all – which was a clear advantage! We really enjoyed our time there.”
Another wrote: “A small themepark with a strange theme candy with curious names sold in the 90’s. The park is clean and have lot of places to sit and it is ok to bring your own food.”
A third posted: “The amusement park itself is decent with some good rides. Compared to other theme parks in Denmark, bonbon land is not in the same league.”
There are some weird theme parks close to home in the UK as well.
Ice Cream Farm in Tattenhall, Chester, is one of the most visited free to enter attractions in the UK.
After a £5m redevelopment in 2014 it became the world’s largest ice cream parlour and Europe’s largest indoor sand and water play area.
Rides and attractions include a giant ice cream tree, a mini JCB digger for children to scoop sand, and the Strawberry Falls crazy golf course, decorated with giant sand castles and oversized candy canes.

Aizhai suspension bridge
The longest valley suspension bridge in the world – stretching 1,102ft above the ground – offers stunning views between Chongqing to Changsha in southwest China.
But for around £150, people can attach themselves to a rope and throw themselves off it – plunging themselves into the valley below.
Iron Gwazi
Located at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in Florida, the Iron Gwazi is the world’s “steepest and fastest” hybrid rollercoaster.
Standing at 206ft, the ride has a 91-degree drop and reaches terrifying speeds of 76mph, while riders drift out of their seat mid-air.
Hundeprutterutchenbane
Located at Bonbon Land in Denmark, the Hundeprutterutchenbane ride is based off a farting dog.
Better known as the “farting dog switchback”, the mutt’s flatulence is said to “add extra speed to the ride”.
Zadra
Known as the largest wooden rollercoaster in the world, Zadra features a 4,317ft wood and steel track.
Found at Energylandia in Poland, a scary 200ft drop is situated at the beginning of the ride, with passengers reaching heights of 209ft and top speeds of up to 73mph.
