Michaela Jaé is ready for her music industry debut!
The Golden Globe-winning Pose actress, singer and activist just released her new song “Green Lights,” along with a music video directed by Dano Cerny, who’s worked with Sia and Kylie Minogue, among many others.
The song was produced by PWP (Tyler the Creator, Janelle Monaé) and Micah Gordon (The Kid LAROI, Cautious Clay), and comes ahead of her debut album 33, which is due out on September 26.

“I wrote this song for all the girls out there who felt like they kept stopping at a green light, they never took it and just sat there and waited until it turned red. Don’t wait at a green light, take it, it’s green,” she says in a statement.
“I’ve always been very intrigued by ‘chosen ones’ like Neo from The Matrix or Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender,” she explains of the album’s concept. “Their arcs are so reminiscent of the divine stories in the Bible or in the Quran.”
And so, she created a character preordained for greatness who spoke to her own experience, called Michaela Jaé 33F7: “I want to create a deeply flawed but resilient hero that young people can look up to.”
