LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Five people were arrested and a large amount of drugs and several guns were seized in a Tuesday raid by Lafayette Police, authorities said.
The Lafayette Police Department Narcotics Unit, in conjunction with the Lafayette Police Department SWAT Team, served a search warrant in the 300 block of Guilbeau Road on Tuesday. As a result, officers recovered over 12 pounds of high-grade Marijuana (DEA street value of $110,190), 713 milliliters of Promethazine/Codeine (DEA street value of $1,426), assorted drug paraphernalia, an AK47 rifle, three AR15 style pistols and three handguns, authorities said.
The following suspects were placed under arrest and were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center:
Dakaythan Andrus, 21, of Lafayette, was charged with:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule V Narcotic
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
- Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Dangerous Substance (7 counts)
- Violation of Protective Orders
Courtney Martin, 19, of Lafayette, was charged with:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule V Narcotic
- Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Dangerous Substance (7 counts)
Jaqualin Marshall, 18, of Scott, LA was charged with:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule V Narcotic
- Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Dangerous Substance (7 counts)
Billy Coleman, 19, of Raceland, was charged with:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule V Narcotic
- Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Dangerous Substance (7 counts)
Kyeandre Poindexter, 19, of Carencro, was charged with:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule V Narcotic
- Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Dangerous Substance (7 counts)
Bond details were not released.
