TOPEKA (KSNT) - Bidding remains open for Heartland Motorsports Park and surrounding properties this month in Shawnee County as a previous auction deadline is extended.
The auction for Heartland Motorsports Park, lying south of the City of Topeka, will continue beyond the old deadline of 6 p.m. on July 17, according to the website of United Country | Heritage Brokers & Auctioneers. The auction will now close at 6 p.m. on July 24.
Multiple tracts of land are up for grabs in addition to a package of several parcels of land which make up Heartland Motorsports Park. While many of these pieces of land are up for auction at no reserve, garnering bids between $1,500 and $5,000, the park itself has attracted only two bids with the highest one at $500.
People can place bids for individual tracts of land surrounding Heartland Motorsports Park, all of which is vacant land with no structures or development, or bid for the park. Tracts 1-12 and 23-29 are on no reserve while tracts 13-22, consisting of the park itself, will be sold upon seller confirmation.
KSNT 27 News has reached out to representatives with Shawnee County and to Chris Payne, owner of Heartland Motorsports Park, for more information about the auction's progress. You can learn more about the auction and place bids by clicking here.
