JR Gentry and Dyaln McCowen would lead the field to the 35 lap $7500 to win feature. McCowen would hop out the early lead with Nick Hoffman and Gentry I third. First yellow would fly on lap 4 with Tyler Carpenter having a mechanical issue to end his run early. Back at the green McCowen would hold onto his lead with Hoffman all over his back bumper. Further back Todd Brennen would start moving through the field. Lap 7 would see one more yellow as Doug Drown and Ryan Missler would tangle. Back underway once more Brennen would move into the 4th spot from 20th. Lap 16 would see a heartbreak for the 1* of Kyle Moore as that car would overheat and his back to back hell tour win attempt. At the restart Nick Hoffman would get a run beside McCowen and would inherit the lead before Drake Stuckey would come to a stop.Lap 19 would see Todd Brennen would inherit 2nd. Hoffman would show the way with Ashton Winger and Todd Brenne in chase. Dylan McCowen would bring out the next yellow flag with a flat right rear. Lap 24 would see another yellow flag with Ashton Winger having tagged the wall ending his run. On the next restart the field would stack up, taking out Thomas Hunzinger, Larry Bellman, and Ryan Markham. While under that yellow flag Nick Hoffman would get a flat left rear and drop to the tail. Todd Brennen would inherit the lead. Tyler Erb and Corey Conley would go toe to toe behind him. Erb would start to real the 20 car in before Ryan Markahm would bring out the yellow on lap 27. Brennen would bring the field back to green. Erb would run high trying to get past the 20. Erb would squeeze by Brennen on lap 28 and run away with his first ever Wayne County win and the 2024 hell tour championship. Trey Mills would finish second and Corey Conley 3rd.
Jessie Wisecarver and Mike McKinney would bring the modifiedes to green in their 25 lap $1500 to win feature event. McKinney would jump out to an early lead. Wisecarver and Young would go battle for third. Casey Butler would bring out the first yellow on lap 5. Back under the green Young would battle with Austin Self for second. Young would drive away from Self and set his sights on the 96 of Mckinney. Lap 11 saw calamity with Ron Miller, Ryan Markham, Caden Alexander, and Dustin Daugherty all getting tangled up. Self and Young would still throw down for second. Tevor Nevel would throw his hat into the ring for the podium spot. Andre Layfeild would inherit the third spot. Jimmy Humphrey and Dalton Lane would tangle to bring out a yellow with 4 laps to go. Third running Austin Self would pull off as well. Back at the green McKinney would hit his marks and drive away from the field. McKinney would drive off to win the the Summer Nationals race at Wayne County, Andre Layfeild would finish 2nd and last year’s winner Nate Young comes home 3rd.
The Glass House super stocks would be led to the green by Brandon Morrow and Braden Tucke. The field would take 7 attempts to go green with a mix of jump starts, crashes, and even a little lawn mowing. Once green Tucke would jump to an early lead with Brandon Morrow in second. Paul Holmes and Don Rutt would duke it out for 3rd . The field would spread out and race green to the white flag where Joes Galsepe would spin causing a one lap shootout. Tucke would hit his marks and come home with his third straight win. Brandon Morrow second and Paul Holmes in third.
In the Joyride Transport Mini Stocks, the two fast cars of Johnny Bruce, Sr. and Doug Hensel would bring the field to green. As the field went into turn one Johnny Bruce would break and slide in front of the field causing him to go upside down. He would climb out okay. That would line up Anthony Collins next to Doug Hensel on the restart. Hensel would get a great start and jump out to the early lead. Kenny Long and Dustin Bedlion would go at it for second with Josh Rameriez in 4th. Out of turn number 2 on lap 3 Bedlion would get past the 711 of long with Rameriez hot in pursuit. Rameriez would beat the back bumper of Bedlion all around the 3/8 oval until the yellow would fly. David Keagy’s 43K would go up in smoke and leak oil all over the track. 5 to go restart Doug Hensel would take another big lead. Bedlion would also secure second as Kenny Long and Ryan Carter would throw down for 3rd. Hensel would drive off to his second win of 2024. Bedlion in second and Josh Rameriez ends up third.
All 4 of these divisions return this Saturday as they continue the race for the championship presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts continues.
