J.D. Vance is officially Donald Trump‘s Vice Presidential pick.
The former President of the United States made his selection for his vice presidential running mate on Monday (July 15).
Trump announced the news on Truth Social, writing: “After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio.”

Born in Middletown, Ohio, he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2022 and sworn into office in January of 2023.
He is married, and his wife Usha Chilukuri Vance will be supporting him on the campaign trail.
The couple first met at Yale Law School in the 2010s, during which they organized a discussion group on the subject of “social decline in white America,” according to The New York Times.
The two married in 2014, a year after they graduated from Yale Law School, and they have welcomed three children together.
Hillbilly Elegy was released in 2020, directed by Ron Howard and based on J.D.‘s 2016 memoir. It stars Gabriel Basso as J.D. Vance.
