Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) was reportedly given a stepped-up government security detail just hours before Donald Trump was set to announce his vice presidential running mate.
During a discussion on Fox News about possible VP candidates, former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer noted that Vance's security detail had been increased.
"If the reporting is accurate, the tea leaf about J.D. Vance that is really interesting is if he was picked up all of a sudden in different vehicles, if vehicles with U.S. government tags came and picked J.D. Vance up from his home, as I read, happened, that's a clue," Fleischer explained.
"That's a signal," he added.
