EastEnders stars spark feud rumours after fans spot social media snub
EASTENDERS fans are demanding to know what happened between two stars after becoming convinced they’ve fallen out.
Eagle-eyed fans have spotted that Jamie Borthwick – who plays Jay Brown in the BBC soap – is no longer following his co-star, Danielle Harold.
Danielle played Lola Pearce-Brown, Jay’s on-screen wife, but left the soap in devastating scenes in 2023 after her Lola was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour.
Jay was present for Lola’s death, with the character dying peacefully in bed next to him and her daughter, Lexi, who she had with Ben Mitchell.
However, after becoming close friends as a result of the storyline, fans have now grown concerned after Jamie unfollowed Danielle last month, and is yet to reinstate it.
Despite this, Danielle is still following Jamie.
Taking to Instagram comments on Danielle’s latest post, which showed pictures from her sunkissed holiday, fans have asked what’s gone wrong – even though neither have made any mention of it on their socials.
“Why did he unfollow her wtf,” wrote one.
This prompted another to respond: “that’s what we’re trying to work out as Danielle still follows him. He unfollowed her like a month ago so would’ve refollowed by now if it was accidental.”
“Whatever it is hope they sort it out nearly 14 years of friendship over for what,” they added.
“Jamie unfollowed her but he’s hanging out with Lola’s lookalike weirdly” said another.
Throughout their time on the show, actors Jamie and Danielle were known to be close, at one point even sparking fan speculation that they were an item away from the cameras.
They never confirmed any kind of romance, but were close friends regardless.
Addressing the rumours last year, Danielle told Fabulous magazine: “I always say Jamie is the husband I never wanted or asked for, but nonetheless got.
“Seriously though, there’s no one like that at the moment. But I’ve been so busy, it’s probably for the best.”
