If you judge a player based on the fan's reaction to them leaving and the price tag (I call it the Cosgrovometer) then Cochrane seems a real coup for us. However being honest I felt that left back was the one area we didn't need to tinker with too much, maybe with the exception of a back-up for Buchanan if Longelo was leaving.
It does point to a 5 at the back with Buchanan as a left centre half. That would also give Belik license to be more progressive.
If we are moving to wing backs then Laird needs to work on his fitness even more so because the bits I saw from Saturday it looked as if he had lead in his boots.
