THE 10 worst ever TV finals have been revealed – and your favourite might be on the list.
Sometimes stories don’t always reach their conclusion and can abruptly come to an end in the world of television.
It can often leave viewers frustrated as they become invested in their beloved characters.
And now one group of TV watchers have compiled a list of shows they think have the worst endings in history.
Taking to web forum reddit, the list fans composed has caused a loud discussion amongst viewers.
The political drama first landed on Netflix over a decade ago and starred Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Kate Mara.
Kevin – who played Francis (Frank) Underwood – departed the show in 2018 amid accusations made against him.
The show continued before eventually wrapping after a ninth series.
However, the ending left fans seriously unimpressed as the mystery surrounding Frank’s death continued until the killer was revealed in the final scene.
The hit British spy thriller ran for four series and starred Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer.
Killing Eve came to a conclusion back in 2022 and fans were left seething with rage on social media.
A key character had been fatally shot in dramatic scenes.
The episode drew to a close with the words “The End” written in red plastered across the screen – marking the finale of the series for good.
Fans were left disappointed by the turn of events and took to Twitter to fume it had been the “ultimate letdown”.
The American fantasy series was once all that was spoken about amongst TV viewers.
Starring Peter Dinklage, Lena Heady, Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke it ran for eight series.
The final series has been heavily criticised by fans, and they were left particularly unimpressed by the show’s finale, which saw Jon Snow fatally stab Daenerys Targaryen after she attacked the inhabitants of King’s Landing.
One viewer blasted: “But it’s not just the finale though. The last 2 seasons were mostly just trash writing hiding behind good special effects, acting and music.”
The US drama first kicked off in 2006 and starred Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, a forensic technician specialising in bloodstain pattern analysis, who leads a secret parallel life as a vigilante serial killer.
Jennifer Carpenter, David Zayas and Christina Robinson also starred in the show’s six seasons.
Swiping at the show’s ultimate conclusion in 2013, which saw Dexter fake his death, one fan said: “It’s the most depressing disgraceful garbage I’ve seen in my life. I feel so sad and let down by it. It’s an understatement calling it the worst on television. I don’t think I’ve seen a piece of media worse in my life.”
Starring Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Sam Trammell, True Blood ran for six years.
It centred around Anna’s character Sookie and is set two years after the invention of a synthetic blood product, which allows vampires to let their presence be known to mankind.
Reflecting on the series, one viewer said: “True Blood, the last few season were bad and the finale was a microcosm. Sookie did not need to kill Bill it was forced drama for no reason he easily could staked himself or simple waiting for the sunrise which was like 15 min away. It was just the cherry a s*** cake.”
The beloved sitcom is considered a fan-favourite, with repeats regularly airing on TV.
It starred Josh Radnor and followed his character Ted and was set in the year 2030.
The series, which ran for nine seasons, also starred Neil Patrick Harris.
The one-hour series finale was broadcast in 2014 and saw Ted meet the Mother at the train station, only for the scene to cut back to the present day where it’s revealed she’s been dead for the past six years.
One fan raged: “Just finished the series, The ending really sucked!”
The smash-hit crime drama’s finale was broadcast in 2017 after four series.
It starred Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman and is based on Sir Arthur Conan’s detective stories.
However, viewers have taken aim at how the drama was brought to an end on screen.
Fans had compared the series finale to a horror movie, with the episode containing a serious amount of blood and clowns.
The 100 followed the lives of a group of people in a space habitat in a post-apocalyptic world.
It aired for seven series with a whopping `100 episodes produced.
The final episode saw Clarke Griffin, who was played by Eliza Taylor, decide to return to earth to live out her final days on her own.
After watching the scenes, one fan raged: “Watched the first season or two, that’s definitely not how I imagined the show to end. Sounds bonkers.”
The beloved American sitcom originally aired between 1988 and 1997 and was revived in 2018 for a brief stint.
It starred Roseanne Barr and centred around her family in Illinois.
John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sarah Gilbet and Michael Fishman were also staples of the show.
During the show’s final series viewers watched as the Conners won the lottery.
However, fans were left furious as Roseanne awoke in the final episode and it was revealed it had all been a dream.
One viewer said: “Roseanne – not just the finale, but that whole final season. Woof. Then it didn’t even matter anyway as the show got rebooted, invalidating that whole final season (and then some), and then became The Conners.”
The smash-hit series followed the lives of three families who are all related, with Jay Pritchett being the matriarch.
Ending in 2020 after 11 seasons, it starred Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergera, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
As the show came to an end show bosses attempted to write a new chapter for each main character’s lives.
Discussing the final episode, one fan said: “They tried so hard to give every character an ending that was a new optimistic start, but it didn’t work or even make sense for most of them.”
