An injury to keep an eye on here

The Medina news is scary. Elbow problems often lead to extended absences, even if surgery isn’t required. It was only just a few days ago that Medina was on the bump but he’ll now head back to the IL for the second time this season. It’s another tough situation for the promising right-hander who only just recently returned from that first IL stint for the knee issue. Hopefully this is a precautionary measure with the All-Star break here.
Taking his spot will be Otañez, who is joining the team for the third time this year. He’s only made three appearances for the Green & Gold but he’s done well in those appearances, allowing just 2 hits in 3 1⁄3 innings, though with a 6/4 KK/BB ratio. We’ll see if he sticks around for a bit longer this time.
