Can you believe it: the iconic film Jawbreaker is 25 years old this year?! Well, in honor of that, Jawbreaker alum Rebecca Gayheart and her lookalike daughter Billie are dressing in those iconic colors.
On July 12, Gayheart and her daughter Billie twinned in purple (in honor of Gayheart’s character Julie’s favorite color). They dressed up for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures screening in Los Angeles, and in photos obtained by People, we can see both Billie and Gayheart looking so stunning in their respective purple looks.
As we can see in the photos, Gayheart opted all-purple Alex Perry suit sourced by CLOTHED LA, which is such a vibrant, eye-catching shade of purple. She paired the look with Anita Ko jewels, styled by Sarah Nearis. As for her lookalike daughter Billie, she donned a pastel purple dress by House of CB. And yes, they both rocked their iconic curls!
“I wanted to honor that memorable look, which is why Billie and I decided to wear purple head to toe,” Gayheart said to People., also talking about their mother-daughter shopping spree for this. “We both definitely had opinions on what each other should wear!”
For those who don’t know, Jawbreaker is a cult-classic 1999 teen comedy film starring Rose McGowan, Gayheart, Julie Benz, and Judy Greer. It was inspired by the cult-classic Heathers, as it follows a popular female clique, who accidentally killed off one of its members, and tries everything to cover it up.
The kooky comedy is also beloved for its use of bright pastel colors throughout.
Gayheart starred as Julie “Jules” Freeman, one of the “Flawless Four” and the main protagonist of the film. Her goal is to expose those who killed her pal, and tried to hurt her reputation.
For those who don’t know, Gayheart and her ex-husband Eric Dane have two daughters, Billie Beatrice, born on March 3, 2010, and Georgia, born on Dec. 28, 2011.
In a previous interview with OK at the 10th Chrysalis Butterfly Ball Anniversary Event, Gayheart gushed about motherhood, making rare comments on the matter. “It’s been amazing. It’s challenging, but it’s the greatest thing ever,” she said.
