TOPEKA (KSNT) — One Topeka man is hitting the road, and he's bringing a house with him.
The Hemp Casita made a stop at Evergy Plaza Friday night. It's made out of hemp by-products, and built by Kansas State students.
Kelly Rippel, a co-founder of Kansans for Hemp, is helping send the tiny home across the Sunflower State to showcase what farmer-grown hemp can do.
"We just want people to see this and experience it for their own," Rippel said. "Put their eyes and hands on it to see what this can actually mean for communities [and] for farmers."
The Kansas State Fair hosted the Hemp Casita's first stop, and has traveled throughout Kansas since. It plans to travel nationwide.
