A PLASTIC surgeon has given his take on a product that targets under-eye bags.
He said the skincare solution worked as a way to freshen up the face without undergoing cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Prem Tripathi (@drpremtripathi) filmed himself explaining why it works in a viral video on TikTok.
“If you hate your eye bags I have the only two solutions pretty much on the planet that will work for you,” he said.
He noted that his first option is temporary — a skincare product formulated to smooth eye bags.
“The only other thing that works is surgery,” he added. “Sorry.”
The plastic surgeon recommended Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant Firmx Temporary Eye Tightener, which is currently on sale for $26 on Amazon.
The under-eye cream, regularly $38, provides silicates to the skin, which help the collagen work together to tighten the area.
The brand suggests cleansing the skin before applying the product.
They also point out that the results are short-lasting, but work on signs of aging such as eye bags and crows’ feet.
Several TikTokers shared their thoughts on Dr. Tripathi’s take on the firming eye cream.
“It has great eye cream that doesn’t leave that white residue,” one wrote.
“I’ve had them since I was 18 and I’m now using Peter Thomas Roth, but saving for surgery,” another added.
“I use the Peter Thomas Roth for my allergy eyes,” said a third.
“I find that if I apply it with wet fingers, not drenched, but damp, you won’t get that white film.”
Beauty shoppers also gave their two cents on the product in the reviews section on Amazon.
“I’m pleasantly surprised that this worked,” one satisfied customer wrote.
“I initially tried it while mixing it with concealer, like one of the videos demonstrated, but it didn’t work. The concealer must have had oil in it.
“I tried it as instructed, and it worked beautifully.
“I was able to put powder foundation over it and am so pleased with the result.
“It’s now five hours later and is still working. There is a tightness under my eyes, but not bothersome.
“I’m so happy to have even a temporary solution for my eye bags.”
