According to HITC, Tottenham Hotspur are currently leading the race to sign Hertha Berlin starlet Boris Lum.
After having secured the services of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, Tottenham are now thought to be plotting a move for another talented young midfielder.
The player in question is Lum, who has turned a lot of heads in Germany with his displays for Hertha’s youth sides.
Despite being just 16 years of age, the young defensive midfielder stood out at Under-19 level last season, promoting interest from several clubs across the continent.
BILD reported earlier his week that Tottenham had already reached out to Hertha over a deal for the teenager, who is also said to be on the radar of Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Ajax.
The report revealed that the youngster’s current deal at Olympiastadion has a €5m release clause, making the deal fairly straightforward for potential suitors.
According to HITC, Spurs are now at the front of the queue to sign Lum and have already submitted an offer to the Bundesliga club for the player.
The report claims that despite facing competition from both Newcastle and Man City, Tottenham are now in the driving seat in the race for the German Under-17 international.
The publication says that Hertha have accepted that Lum will leave the club this summer and adds that the Lilywhites are now considered ‘the biggest threat to Bayern’ in the race for the youngster.
