This should be a fun season for the New Orleans Pelicans
Former Duke star Zion Williamson had a tremendous season for the New Orleans Pelicans before he injured his hamstring at the very end.
Before that we saw the guy we had seen at Duke: he was in tremendous condition and he was playing explosive, smart basketball.
New Orleans has made a big acquisition in former Atlanta Hawk Dejounte Murray who should make a huge difference for the Pelicans - and he also says he plans to make a huge difference for Williamson.
With Murray and CJ McCollum in the backcourt and Trey Murphy, Herb Jones and Brandon Ingram, barring a much-rumored trade, New Orleans has a lot to offer. But there’s also rookies Jordan Hawkins from UConn and the very powerful Yves Missi from Baylor. It’s going to be fun to watch Missi and Williamson together.
So what to expect from Williamson and New Orleans this coming season? Here’s what Murphy says: “You get to see what a generational talent looks like with a healthy team. That’s the biggest thing. We’ve got to be healthy. That’s always been our thing for my entire time in New Orleans. If we have a healthy team, I think we can make a deep run.”
