Good Morning Britain host in shock return in line-up shake up after saying ‘goodbye’ to fans
GOOD Morning Britain viewers were stunned to see Susanna Ried back on their screens just two days after bidding farewell.
The presenter had informed fans she was taking a lengthy break for the summer holidays, but it appears she’s jetted off to Berlin for the Euros final.
On Friday morning (July 12), Susanna opened the show live from Berlin.
She said: “Good Morning Britain. We’re live in Berlin as 50,000 England fans flock to Germany for Sunday’s showdown with Spain.
“With England fans wanting to be part of history, the cost of a flight is soaring and getting to Berlin is not cheap or easy.”
Meanwhile, Kate Garraway and Adil Ray managed the London studio, covering the day’s top news stories.
Fans rushed to social media to share their confusion about Susanna’s trip, with one writing: “Great to see Susanna Reid has managed to get to Berlin… I mean millions of proper fans have been priced out. £1200 flights, £900 trains it’s an absolute disgrace!”
A second echoed: “Why did Susanna Reid have to go to Germany when the other reporter is already there?”
A third commented: “Susanna’s blagged a ticket to the final then.”
However, the GMB presenter quickly confirmed that she would be “coming home” to watch the football as she hadn’t got a ticket to the final.
Her shock appearance comes just two days after she said goodbye to viewers.
On Wednesday, the host told political analysts Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce: “I’m going to say goodbye to you both because it’s now time for me to go off on a break.
“Which means I get to say goodbye to you at home.”
She continued: “You never know, I might pop up in the meantime.
“But otherwise I will see you back in September.”
