Abigail Breslin is seemingly weighing in on the latest controversial moves in music.
The 28-year-old Little Miss Sunshine actress opened up on X on Wednesday (July 10), writing: “I’m just saying… working with known abusers in any industry just contributes to the narrative that men can do abhorrent sh-t and get away with it. On another note, I love @KeshaRose and she gave one of the best shows ive ever been to last year <3 stream Kesha!”
While she didn’t explicitly name Katy Perry or Dr. Luke, the duo’s reunion on Katy‘s upcoming song “Woman’s World” and album 143 has sparked plenty of discourse online among fans, as Dr. Luke notably faced allegations of abuse from Kesha (which he denied), leading to a decade of legal battles that ultimately ended in 2023.
Kesha has a new song, “Joyride,” out at the same time – her first release independent of Dr. Luke‘s label.
Katy had stopped working with the “Teenage Dream” co-producer since 2013′s Prism, but has started up with the producer again for her 2024 album.
“I want to stay out of it because I know them both and I empathize with both of them and obviously it’s a horrible situation for both of them. And the only two people that know what really went on are those two people,” Katy said during her 2017 deposition.

Abigail faced backlash from some of Katy‘s supporters, to which she wrote: “omggggg guys really…? I didn’t say anything awful, everyone calm down. I said I dont support abusers. crucify me. and I also never said I have an amazing music career. God… calm down. also, I’ve been a long time advocate against SA and DV so I’m not gonna stop speaking out about it regardless of how many of you tell me to im worthless and disgusting and awful.”
“alright. goodnight everybody. im not gonna stop speaking out against abuse. I never said a negative thing about your fave. please relax. im allowed to have a perspective. youre allowed to roast my career and treat me horribly but idk why you would. I stand by what I said. gn,” she continued, sharing more negative tweets from fans.
Kesha and Dr. Luke revealed that they had come to a mutual agreement to settle a long-running standoff in 2023. See the joint statement.
