LIVERPOOL and Uruguay star Darwin Nunez has hit the headlines for jumping into a wild crowd brawl after a Copa America semi final.
A scuffle broke out between Colombia and Uruguay supporters in the stands but Nunez climbed up from the players’ bench to remonstrate, appearing to defend his family.

Uruguay players accused Colombian fans of targeting their families, with Nunez seen consoling his young son after the match.
Nunez took it upon himself to defend partner Lorena Manas – so who is the WAG the striker jumped in to defend?
Lorena Manas has established herself as one of football’s prominent WAGs.
The Spaniard has built a big social media following of her own with an Instagram page rich in bikini pics and a curious bio that translates to “I’m everything you won’t see here”.
The Sun previously reported she hails from Almeria, a seaside city in the south of Spain.
Lorena has reportedly been loved up with Nunez since his playing days at Spanish club Almeria.
Nunez played for Almeria 2019-20 before joining big Lisbon club Benfica from 2020.
Lorena is believed to be several years older than Nunez, with the pair now sharing a son together – named Darwin after his footballer father.
She gave birth to Darwin in 2022 with Nunez now a key player for Liverpool, boosting the couple’s fame further.
Following Darwin’s birth, Lorena shared a touching message alongside a photo of her in hospital with the Uruguayan international.
She said: “I would like you to fall down many times and always get up because that would mean you live intensely and without fear.
“I would like you to be nice to those who are in an underprivileged situation and unforgiving with those who abuse others, that you have the courage to take your own decisions and that nobody marks out your path.”
Before meeting Nunez, Lorena was coupled with ex-Barcelona star Aleix Vidal.
They were reportedly married during Vidal’s time at the massive La Liga club, which spanned 2015-2018.
It’s believed they had a daughter together named Chloe.
Lorena is said to have split from Vidal in the spring of 2018.
The pair went their separate ways with Vidal moving to Sevilla before a two-year contract with Espanyol to finish his career.
Lorena has reportedly maintained a cordial relationship with Lionel Messi‘s wife Antonela Roccuzzo.
Messi is a Barcelona legend, having scored 474 goals between 2004-2021 – meaning Lorena shared Barca WAG status with Antonela during Vidal’s playing days there.
Lorena appears ecstatic to now be spending her days with Nunez as a Merseyside power couple.
But she could soon be returning to the Barca stands, with Nunez reportedly eyeing a move.
