Maybe this news will finally get Sadness to cheer up a bit? Variety reported on July 10 that Inside Out 2 has made $1.25 billion globally, which means it has beaten Incredibles 2’s record of $1.24 billion to become Pixar’s top-grossing film. We wonder if the Incredible family feels emotional about being dethroned … and whether the emotions in their heads have superpowers. Jack-Jack’s brain would be chaos, no? After beating Incredibles 2, Inside Out 2 is also now the fourth highest-grossing animated movie from any studio, behind Frozen ($1.29 billion), The Super Mario Bros. Movie ($1.36 billion), and Frozen II ($1.45 billion). You might be thinking that it seems possible for Inside Out 2’s Money Island to surpass Frozen II’s total. Even if that does happen, just remember that Disney reportedly has plans for a third and fourth Frozen movie that could also do well at the box office. As far as this record goes, we’d be surprised if Elsa let it go without a fight.
