While Sakarah will be defending her Scotiabank Junior Monarch calypso crown, a new junior soca monarch will be crowned next week.
During a draw for the finals at Scotiabank’s Broad Street, Bridgetown branch on Wednesday, the contestants pulled numbers for the 16 spots in the finals.
Calypsonian N’Kyla pulled the first number and she will be the first performer on stage at the National Botanical Gardens, Waterford, St Michael on July 20.
She will be followed by Hailstorm, Trinity, Potent, reigning monarch Sakarah, King K, Khalessi and Bit Bit. Sabiah is the reserve.
At the semifinal on Sunday night, former monarch Tae announced she would not be returning to the contest.
However, during the draw, the remaining contestants pulled their numbers.
John Boss pulled position number one. He will be followed by Leilani, Ranesha, Kari, Zarie B, Mr Showman, Jayden Inniss and Lil Stathis. Joshua B is the reserve. (TG)
