Sam Rubin‘s cause of death has been revealed.
The veteran journalist, who spent over 30 years at KTLA in Los Angeles, passed away in May at 64 years old.
It was reported that he suffered a cardiac arrest and now, the medical examiner has determined his official cause of death.

TMZ reports that Sam had a massive blockage of his coronary artery which caused him to have a heart attack.
The ME’s office found his official cause of death as “ischemic heart disease due to atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.”
Sam was on air on Thursday, May 9th, but called in sick the next morning, which is when he suffered the heart attack. He was then transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“We have some news from the KTLA family that is shocking and hard to comprehend at the moment. We have the profoundly sad duty to report that our friend and colleague Sam Rubin has died. Our hearts, as you can imagine, are broken,” KTLA anchor Frank Buckley shared in a statement on air.
“His laugh, his charm, his caring personality…” he continued while struggling to hold back tears. “To all of us he shared his mornings with on television, and to those he worked with behind the scenes on KTLA, we will not forget.”
