MASON GREENWOOD is set to leave Manchester United after they agreed to sell him in a £27million deal to Marseille.
The Athletic claims the French side will pay £23m up front, with an additional £4m coming through add-ons.
United will also be entitled to a large chunk of any future fee.
But the move remains subject to Greenwood’s approval.
The 22-year-old forward came through the academy at Old Trafford but his time there could soon be over as Marseille look to secure his services.
Greenwood, who won player of the season while on loan at Getafe in LaLiga last term, was back at United’s Carrington HQ on Monday.
However, he did not train with the rest of the squad who had returned for pre-season training, instead he only had talks with United chiefs.
The one-capped England international was informed that he has no future at the club even though charges of attempted rape and assault against him were dropped last year.
His displays in Spain last season have led to a string of foreign teams chasing his services.
However, Marseille have seen off interest from Lazio, Atletico Madrid and Valencia to strike terms with United.

The French giants tabled an offer worth £27million with a substantial sell-on fee included, and the Red Devils have now accepted the offer.
David Ornstein tweeted: “Marseille reach agreement with Manchester United to sign Mason Greenwood.
“Proposed deal remains subject to 22yo forward’s approval: not yet in place.
“Price €31.6m (€27.6m fixed, €4m add-ons) + large share of future sale.”
However, the move is set to be a controversial one with Marseille fans starting a campaign to block Greenwood’s transfer.
And supporters have been backed by the mayor of the city, who has urged Marseille not to go ahead with the move.
Benoit Payan said: “Greenwood’s behaviour is unspeakable, unacceptable.
“The values of OM and Marseille are anything but that in fact. It’s a shame.
“I will ask Pablo Longoria not to recruit Greenwood. I don’t want my club to be covered in shame.”

Meanwhile, a fan statement added: “At a time when negotiations for the arrival of Mason Greenwood are announced and becoming increasingly heated, it seems necessary to explain, once again and before the damage becomes irreversible, why this transfer seems inconceivable in view of the values displayed by the club.
“And why it would mean for many of us a red line that would irreparably damage the passion that we have for this club.”
However, Greenwood was defended by new Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi.
He said: “Greenwood isn’t recruited yet so there isn’t much to say. He’s a champion, an international level player.
“I don’t know what happened, I’m not concentrating on private lives. When a player signs for the club, I consider him my child.
“Even if I can pull his ear in private, I will defend him publicly. My players are like my sons.”
United are looking to bring in four new players themselves in Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, whom they have lodged a new bid for, plus Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee and PSG’s Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, 23.
