The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Buckle up, folks - the combination of heat and humidity will be brutal this afternoon! Actual high temperatures peak in the low to mid 90's across much of the region. With the humidity factored in, it will feel more like 100!
That has the potential to be dangerous if you're overexerting yourself. The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Heat Advisory for the Hudson and Mohawk Valleys through 8 PM tonight. Be sure to limit strenuous outdoor activity during the heat of the day. Take plenty of breaks in the shade or A/C, and stay hydrated!
Tonight, we stay warm and quite humid with lows only down into the low 70's across much of the region.
The remnants of Hurricane Beryl will push towards the Northeast tomorrow, bringing potential heavy rain downpours in the afternoon. South and west of Albany, there is the potential for some severe weather including gusty winds and even an isolated tornado. Towards the north, there is a greater risk for flooding from enhanced rainfall totals.
While heavy rain may linger into Thursday morning, the afternoon looks at least a little better with only scattered showers and thunderstorms lingering. Friday and Saturday are less intensely humid, with only a few showers or afternoon storms expected. Highs will peak in the mid to upper 80's.
Sunday looks mostly dry, but warm and quite muggy. Showers and thunderstorms are in the mix again for the start of next work week.
