A baby has been found dead in north London.
The grim discovery was made by Metropolitan Police officers responding to reports of a ‘concern for welfare’ in Taviton Street, Camden, shortly before 4pm on Monday.
Paramedics were also called to the address, but the infant was found dead inside.
A cordon was set up as an investigation was launched.
A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: ‘Police were called to Taviton Street, WC1, to reports of a concern for welfare.
‘Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene. A baby was sadly found dead.
‘Enquiries continue into the circumstances.’
The Met said the alarm was raised at 3.53pm.
