A low intensity improvised explosive device caused extensive damage to a sliding glass door on Monday when it exploded outside the house in Mazotos.
The explosion appears to have occurred on Monday morning and the police received the complaint at around 6.30pm.
A 54-year-old man had been living in the house for the past four years.
Larnaca police are carrying out investigations.
